Queues and Projects.
Before you can order an SMS number for your Omni environment, you will need to know which queue and which project it will be associated with.Queue
If you already have a message channel queue, for example for email, you can reuse that queue for SMS.
- You will need to know the name of the queue when ordering your SMS number.
If you do not have a message queue, or wish to keep SMS messages in a separate queue for reporting purposes:
- Create a new queue, following the instructions in the article How do I create a message channel queue?
- You will need to know the name of the queue when ordering your SMS number.
Project
Likewise, you can use an existing inbound project for SMS. Or you can create a separate project for SMS if you need different project settings to handle your SMS. To create a new project, follow the instructions in the article How do I create projects for Omni?
- You will need to know the name of the project when ordering your SMS number.
Note that the SMS sender setting in your project will need to be set after you have received your SMS number.
