Required format
- Contact lists can be uploaded in CSV or Excel file formats with a maximum size of 10Mb.
- Optionally, you can use the LeadDesk template for your contact lists (see below).
List content
Your contact lists are how LeadDesk recognises your customers when they call or message your team. The better quality the fuel, the more efficiently agents can serve customers.
- It is a good idea to verify the quality of the list before trying to upload it. If possible, check that the information in the list you want to upload is valid and current.
- LeadDesk will check the file for duplicates, and compare it against blacklists when you upload the file.
- LeadDesk will optionally attempt to standardise phone number and name formats when the contact list is uploaded, this helps identify duplicates and manage them.
- You may want to add country dialling codes to all phone numbers before uploading the list. For one suggestion on how to do that, see the support article Adding country codes to contacts.
Using the LeadDesk template
You do not have to use the LeadDesk contact list template. If your contact list does not exactly match the expected fields or field order that LeadDesk is expecting, you will have an opportunity to match fields during the upload process.
This can be made easier, if the contact list you upload is already using the LeadDesk template. To download the template, in your Admin account:
- Go to the Contact Lists page.
- Go to the Contact Lists subpage.
- Click the button.
- Scroll down to the Import contact list section.
- Click Download list template
This will download a copy of the LeadDesk contact list template. You can click the Cancel button at the top of the page.
Use the template to create your contact list file.
