About LeadDesk message types

There are three types of messages that can appear in the notification center in the Agent interface:

  • Private messages are sent by an Admin directly to an agent. Only that agent can read that message.
  • Public messages are sent by an Admin to multiple agents, based on Agent Group, Project or Office.
  • System messages are sent by LeadDesk to inform users of important new information about the application.

Messages in Outbound

  • The notification center can be found in the top right of the agent interface. If you have no messages, the notification icon will appear grey.
  • When a message arrives, you will see a pop-up notifying you about the type of message received.
  • You may see a preview of the message as well.
  • The notification icon will turn LeadDesk blue, with a red dot for unread messages.  
  • If you have received multiple messages, you will see a list of how many of each type of message you have waiting for you.

Managing messages

To manage your messages:

  1. Click the notification icon .

You will see tabs for each type of message you currently have. To see messages of each type:

  1. Click the tab of the message type you want to read.
  2. To remove a message, click the Delete link.
  3. You can mark messages as Read or Unread as needed. Click the Mark as read or unread as appropriate.

Closing the message center

When finished:

  1. Click anywhere outside the message center to close it.
