Contact fields. Applying validation.
Before creating your contact list, it is worth considering the kind of information a contact card can contain.
A default contact contains
- A standard set of fields for standard demographic information: addresses, phone numbers and so forth.
- The Web site filed is a special case. Text in this field is assumed to be a URL, and the field label is a link that will take the agent to that URL.
- 35 Other info fields are available, which you can use for any information you need your agents to refer to.
Normally all fields are non-mandatory and can contain any text. When creating projects, you can define certain validation for contact lists used by that project, including:
- Fields can be made mandatory.
- Fields can be hidden.
- Fields can be defined as containing only numbers.
- Field contents can be restricted to a pre-defined drop-down list.
